Malaysians expecting a Cabinet reshuffle
BY: SYARIFAH SOFEA
There are strong indications within political circles that Malaysian prime minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim (DSAI), who has been in power for over a year, is under pressure to organize a reshuffle of the federal cabinet.
Malaysians are urging and encouraging DSAI to remove inept and deadwood cabinet members who have failed to perform over the year and replace them with more capable and able leaders that are waiting in the wings.
From social media postings in Facebook, it is obvious that Malaysians want DSAI to remove those who are laggards from his cabinet as they are being blamed for the economic slump and also for causing a slowdown in economic growth.
By being mere passengers on board in the cabinet, and not getting to the ground realities of life, and to assist the rakyat to butter their bread, these cabinet members should be axed and those who are eager and willing, to be given a chance to serve.
While, generally, Malaysians understand that inflation and recession is a global phenomenon, they also believe that a number of cabinet ministers are failing to do their tasks and are now in a certain comfort zone.
Malaysians want leaders who are proactive and on the job, those who are bold, vibrant and dynamic who have leadership acumen and the foresight and instinct on how to move the nation forward and make life better for all.
