Debating the issue of outsourcing assignments

The education community is up in arms and now debating heavily the rise of online assignment helpers or ‘essay mills’ who offer their services to students struggling with tight deadlines or complex assignments.
There are differing views being posed, and while some argue that the service does provide much needed support to overwhelmed students, others argue that it promotes academic dishonesty and undermines the integrity of education.
But sources say that many postgraduate students and working professionals have benefitted from the services of assignment helpers as their demanding schedules and multiple commitments make seeking help necessary.
Those who have used the services of these helpers are usually satisfied to maintain a good academic record, as the service includes customised assistance, enabling students to get clarifications, guidance and support.
Not all assignment helpers operate unethically although some students may misuse their services but there are a growing number of students who genuinely require assistance owing to language barriers, mental health issues or personal emergencies.
These assignment helpers acknowledge that online learning presents numerous challenges and tasks for students but it was a rewarding experience for them to assist many students to complete and pass their studies.
