Anwar buoyant over US visit

Malaysian Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim (DSAI) is buoyant and ecstatic over his visit to the United States which he described as a success as he raised the country’s profile on the international scene.
This is the first visit of DSAI to the US in his capacity as Malaysian prime minister where he highlighted the country’s stance on global issues which portrayed Malaysia as a moderate Islamic nation.
DSAI was in New York to participate in the 78th United Nations General Assembly and had meetings with his counterparts, and he shared experiences and exchanged opinions on global issues.
DSAI stated that Malaysia made its stand known on international issues such as the Ukraine and Russia conflict, Islamophobia, climate change and also the worrying situation in Myanmar which was also raised by other nations.
DSAI also held bilateral meetings with the leaders of Turkiye, Iraq, Thailand and Sri Lanka and he also held investment and trade meetings with several large US companies listed in the Fortune 500.
These US companies include Airbnb, Amazon, Amazon Web Services, Boeing, ConocoPhillips and Kimberly Clark. DSAI, who coordinated these meetings at the Harvard Club, disclosed that these companies were keen to invest in Malaysia.
