Malaysian prime minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim (DSAI), stated that education is a key driver in the bid of the nation to become advanced and developed and commended Amanah Ikthiar Malaysia (AIM) for providing free tuition classes.

Children of entrepreneurs under AIM, DSAI stated, will receive more free tuition so as to encourage them to take up interest in Mathematics and Science subjects as there now seems a lowered interest in these subjects.

DSAI stated that the government will search for more funding so that more children of AIM’s entrepreneurs can participate in these free tuition courses and proposed the organization tie up with the education ministry.

AIM’s announced that a total of RM1.2 million has been allocated for the free tuition programmes which is set to benefit Year Five and Year Six pupils nationwide involving 133 tuition centres and 197 teachers.

Speaking to the media, DSAI elaborated that tuition can be costly and a burden to parents and the initiative by AIM’s helps to ease the concern of parents and guardians and urged more organizations to provide free tuition courses.

He stated that as another alternative interested organizations can team up with private tuition centres to provide free tuition as they can be sponsored and already have a useful and viable existing infrastructure.
