Unity government on right track
Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim (DSAI) and his unity government, in a relatively short span of time, has worked hard to make all the right policy decisions to help the people.
The nation reeled under the impact of Covid 19 but the unity government since its appointment has brought down inflation, managed the high cost of living and weak ringgit by launching the Rahmah initiative to help people with their expenses.
The unity government has also attracted a substantial amount of foreign direct investment and this is helping people with the right skills to gain employment and is also a testimony of the nation’s credibility as an investment option now.
While much more time is needed for the unity government to prove itself, it is important in the coming state elections in Kedah, Penang, Kelantan, Terengganu, Selangor and Negeri Sembilan on August 12 that the unity government receives full backing of the people.
DSAI has put a lot of focus and emphasis on bread and butter issues as the working population is about 16.5 million, or nearly half the population, but nearly 70 percent of them are unskilled workers who need to upgrade their skills.
DSAI understands the situation fully and has drawn up programmes to help unskilled workers to upskill including about 12 million workers in the middle income group who also believe that they need to upgrade and improve on their skills.
