The rebranding of Form Six classes

BY: SYARIFAH SOFEA
In a timely move, the decision by Malaysia’s Ministry of Education to rebrand the Form Six classes has been hailed by prominent educationists as a major step in the right direction to improve the quality of education.
While students are free from sitting for any decisive examinations in primary school, they have to undergo the UASA format, previously known as PT3, for Form 3, and contend with their biggest challenge in sitting for the SPM examinations.
Once they have crossed the SPM hurdle, they will have the possibility of going for Form Six classes to sit for their STPM before deciding on venturing to college or university for a tertiary education.
The rebranded Form Six classes which have been upgraded to college or pre university level enhances its prestige and will attract serious scholars who wish to pursue a discipline or field of study after completing their STPM.
Obviously the quality of students will be the creme de la creme or the cream of the crop in Malaysia and this means that they can catapult the nation to the forefront of education and compete globally.
Educationists, teachers and parents are all praise and excited by this move by the Ministry of Education which will revive the quality of scholars after the disappointing and dismal performance of SPM candidates in the 2022 examinations.
