Digging your grave with your teeth

In Malaysia, a nationwide survey conducted in 2019 revealed a rising trend in obesity prevalence, increasing from15.1 percent in 2011, to 17.7 percent in 2015, and finally to 19.9 percent in 2019 and still rising.
While more recent statistics are not available, healthcare experts contacted suggest that it is most likely that Malaysians are the most obese in Asia which is a cause for concern as obesity brings with it many health risk factors.
You are what you eat. But this does not mean that you must dig your own grave with your teeth by consuming like a glutton the different kinds of food that can be prepared for you either at home or at stalls and restaurants and other eating places.
In eating, learn to practise moderation. Don’t live to eat but eat to live. Consume food and drinks in accordance with a balanced diet and do not over consume as this is the cause of many illnesses and diseases.
Besides watching our diet, exercise regularly on a daily basis and overcome the temptation to lead a laid back or sedentary life but be active daily but do not overexert yourself physically as this can do more harm than good.
The other factor involved in healthy living is to consult a doctor regularly and go for periodic medical examinations as prevention is better than cure and the discovery of any health problem can be nipped in the bud.
