While in the past parenting skills were learnt by experience, day by day, as parents cared and brought up their children, nowadays the story is very different as parenting skills have grown in sophistication.

It’s a new era, the New Millennium, the Internet Age, and everything has gone high tech and parents have to adapt and change with the times and many face difficulties in bringing up their children.

Some parents have even gone to the extent of getting professional help from psychologists, counselors and caregivers on how to take care of their children and raise them up well so that they become well adjusted adults.

A child today has a plethora of needs that can be costly to parents such as healthcare, education, tuition and clothing and playthings that parents need to be earning reasonably well to make all these needs and wants possible.

From their cradle, the time they are born to the time they graduate from college and start working, parents are not only required to be financially prepared but they also have to have a number of key parenting skills as the basic requirement.

This is why those who wish to become parents are well advised to consider all the pros and cons before starting a family and to be prepared for all eventualities as being a parent is an arduous vocation that is sacrificial.
