Various critics and social media commentators, Parent Teacher Associations, NGOs, academics and individuals decry the state of schooling in the country especially after the release of the 2022 SPM results.
According to them a whopping 77 percent of the students who sat for the SPM failed dismally and this is a crying shame for us as a nation and the concern is rising over what the future of the country is going to be like.
But the Ministry of Education is nonplussed and in the past they have stated that Malaysia has a world class education system comparable or better than Japan and Singapore. What have they got to say now?
It’s blatantly obvious that the politicking and tinkering of the education system by rogue leaders in the past has led to this state of affairs and there is now a major hue and cry to completely overhaul the schooling system.
If nothing is done, Malaysia’s schooling system will only produce misfits in society and there is going to be a great erosion in the quality of human capital as the workforce will be of real poor quality and capability.
For the sake of the future of our nation let’s end the politicking and come together to produce and nurture students who are bright and intelligent who will lead the nation to be advanced and developed.
