Malaysia’s confusing and confused politics
BY: AIN IBRAHIM
Those who study Malaysia’s political history and Malaysia watchers (both local and foreign) are astonished and astounded by the convolution of Malaysian politics ever since Merdeka or Independence from the British colonialists in 1957.
The evolution of Malaysian politics, since the birth of the nation, until now, has been both confusing and confused that in many instances the truth has become a casualty in order for rogue politicians to escape punishment.
This, believe it or not, is actually being done deliberately so that unscrupulous politicians can avoid detection and be able to get off the hook for acts of corruption, crimes and other wrongdoings while holding public office.
By convoluting and twisting facts, by way of fabrication and falsehood, politicians who have no integrity or honesty hoodwink the rakyat with deception and lies that it is very hard to find the beginning or end of a political saga.
Malaysians are therefore hopeful that prime minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will put a stop to all these convolutions that cause confusion and the rakyat are also wanting to see political leaders calling a spade a spade.
Malaysia must rid itself of this evil miasma of convoluted politics and support politicians who are straight talking and who walk the talk to deliver to the rakyat service that is commendable for Malaysia as a nation to move forward.
