Malaysia in limbo because of Mahathir?
BY: SYARIFAH SOFEA
The problems and crises faced by the nation now can be traced back to having evolved and veered out of control during the first tenure of Malaysian dictator Mahathir Mohammad as prime minister.
It has finally dawned on a growing number of Malaysians that Mahathir, who on the guise and pretext of championing the rights of a particular race and religion, ended up pillaging the coffers of the country.
The ‘championing the rights of a particular race and religion’ was a ploy to make use of their votes and support to amass power to serve himself, his family, cronies and sycophants by hoodwinking Malays and Bumiputeras.
This is why the Malay Rulers have ordered politicians like Mahathir, who is on a mission to champion the rights of a particular race and religion now, to cease with immediate effect from playing the race and religion card.
It is also Mahathir, who as alleged by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who began the original thieving and is solely responsible for triggering the 1998 financial crisis by speculating on the currency market.
It is high time for Mahathir to return the wealth he has attained at the expense of Malaysians although he is seen as being above the law and having an evil influence on most law enforcement agencies in the country.
