The management of an individual’s health
BY: SRIDEVI SURYA
Very often do you hear stories of people who are successful in life but do not enjoy good health and have to set aside much of their earnings for medical expenses and supplements and other expenses to keep going in life.
This makes us realize that health is the real wealth. While wealth creation is important to ensure a person can live well it must not be at the cost of ruining their health by overworking or overindulging in food and drinks.
The new mantra is to place a premium on health. People must embrace the philosophy that health management starts from birth through childhood and adolescence to being a youth, middle aged and elderly or old.
Health management on a personal basis should therefore be from cradle to grave and people must pay close and careful attention to their health and not be guilty of neglecting their health at any one point in their life.
Taking care of your health is a personal responsibility and it must not be left to others although at times assistance might be needed to maintain and take care of our health but basically the onus of responsibility rests with the individual.
No one can be a better caregiver or take care of themselves but the individual themselves taking charge and being responsible enough to ensure that he commits himself or herself to a lifelong commitment of caring for self.
