Why tinker with a success story?
BY: RAJA AMY
The actual truth about race relations can be seen on the ground where Malaysians of all races mingle and mix freely and easily as an exemplary show of how peace and harmony prevails in a multi racial, multi religious and multi cultural country.
Malaysians truly celebrate unity in diversity. The issue of racism is therefore isolated and sporadic which means that the issue of race relations being in jeopardy is a non issue. The majority of Malaysians enjoy camaraderie among themselves.
Given this scenario where race relations are really at a healthy and mature level among the various races in this country the pertinent question that lurks in the mind of Malaysians is why tinker with a success story?
Is there tinkering with race relations? Sadly, there are lunatic fringe groups and religious extremist and racist political organizations in this country that use the racial card to draw attention to their unhealthy and evil agenda.
Following through in the wake of these groups are mischievous politicians who also play the race card to further their selfish, self seeking agenda to promote their personal interests and further their ambitions.
Malaysians must engage in right and proper thinking to show zero tolerance and reject outright those who play the race card and those who practise racism as it is divisive and dangerous and a genuine threat to national security.
