Anwar should stay the course
BY: AKMAL AZIZ
Ever since Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim (DSAI) was appointed prime minister of Malaysia six months ago there have been sporadic ploys and plots by evil and opportunist politicians to unseat him but this has only served to tell him that he shouldn’t change course now.
Half a year has passed since DSAI became the prime minister and to his credit the majority of the rakyat are backing him while it is unsure what politicians have in mind by wanting to dispense with the wishes and aspirations of the people.
In the current political mood, and by gauging the political scene, DSAI is the best choice to be paramount leader of this country based on prevailing realities and his claim can be verified with the satisfaction of the rakyat with him.
This is now the prelude to a New Malaysia and there are disgruntled and discontented self seeking and self serving politicians who want to oust him from office in Putrajaya so that they can set up their personal fiefdom at the expense of Malaysians.
There are now strong arguments and compelling reasons why DSAI should not give way or budge but to stay the course and chart and map his vision as a leader of calibre for Malaysia to rise up from the governance of its horrifying past regimes.
Now is the time, therefore, for Malaysians of all walks of life to come together and rally behind DSAI and his chosen team to offer us a higher quality of life and to savour and enjoy the benefits of being a forward country.
