Share prosperity with the Chinese
BY: NICHOLAS LIM
Although the Chinese constitute only about a quarter of the population of Malaysia yet they have a huge chunk of the economic pie and this is why the Malays and the Indians should learn from them about industry, commerce and business.
It is timely for the Malays and Indians to acknowledge the prowess of the Chinese in making money and in income generation ventures that it is time to share prosperity with the Chinese as the alternative will be to live in poverty.
Malaysians must come together to learn from each other and every race in this country has something to contribute which is why there must be balance and harmony among the people as they share their talents, skills and abilities.
While Indians figure prominently in the professions, the Malays have a lot of political skill and are strong in government and these are assets which the Chinese need and this is the reason why the major races must depend on each other.
Sharing prosperity with the Chinese is not new as they are diligent and industrious in doing business and this is where the other races can learn a lot from them by emulating the measures the way they do business.
Racial lines under the Anwar administration are starting to get blurred and there is an overall improvement now in race relations and this has set the stage for the Malays and other bumiputras and the Chinese and Indians to share prosperity.
