The ‘silent wealth’ of politicians
BY: NICHOLAS LIM
In his dissertation of the Seven Deadly Sins, Indian statesman M. K. Gandhi highlighted what he perceived to be a great sin by stating that Wealth Without Work is something that people should never ever indulge.
He cited that people instead of working to be wealthy resorted to all kinds of manipulation of people and things to create wealth while not adding any productive value or “making something out of nothing.”
This Mr Gandhi felt was a great destroyer. It went against the ethics of work and in Malaysia this propensity for creating wealth without work has become common in attempts by different individuals to get wealthy without working for it.
The silent wealth which has been created by Malaysian dictator Mahathir Mohammad and his trusted aide Daim Zainuddin and other cronies should be taken off the corrupt, confiscated and returned rightfully to the rakyat because it was made at their expense.
Creating wealth without work creates a grave injustice on unsuspecting, naive and gullible people by rogue politicians who through their connivance hoodwink the man on the street and take advantage of them.
This is why it is time for people to realize who are the political leaders that are really serving the people and it is probably a prosaic reality that the only political party who can guarantee the future of the Malays is DAP because they practise democracy.
