The late Mr Bertrand Russell, once Britain’s foremost philosopher and professor of mathematics and logic commented, “Uncertainty baulks the impulse to every irksome effort and generates a tone of frivolous misery, mistakenly thought of as pleasure.”
In these times of travail in Malaysia, there is growing uncertainty over the future for many Malaysians and basically people are just adopting a wait and see attitude as they ponder their future in this country.
From the political uncertainty, to the employment era, to the balancing of household finances, finding housing and taking care of health to getting an education, Malaysians face a host of uncertainties.
There is a fight or flee stance now being adopted by many Malaysians as they decide whether to stand and fight for their rights in this country or flee to greener pastures owing to all the growing uncertainties.
People’s thinking has become muddled and they are unable to see clearly through all that is happening in this country as they gauge the ground realities of all the prevailing uncertainties that are taking place now.
The best option is to be positive and sit tight believing that somehow the country and its leaders can steer through the maze and take us to calmer waters where Malaysians either see the light at the end of the tunnel or the mail train coming.
