Malaysia’s future remains bleak

Though many Malaysians thought, with the formation of a unity government, there will emerge a New Malaysia, now they are beginning to realize that for reforms and changes to work it must be sincere and genuine.
This unity government must be made aware that they must play by the rules of the game, that there must be fairplay, justice and meritocracy for democracy to work as these are the basic tenets and obligations.
It’s time to call a spade a spade. For instance, not only must there be in place affirmative action for bumiputras, there must also be assistance given equally to the Chinese and Indians especially among their poor and marginalized.
The unity government must quickly go to work to restore parity among the races and be blind and deaf to the accidents of birth such as race and religion. It must be color blind and see all Malaysians in the same light or the future will still remain bleak.
Needless to say, for the economy and progress and development to take place there must be in place egalitarian values and there must be a level playing field for all Malaysians and there must no longer be distrust and suspicion among the races but peace and harmony.
Even His Majesty the Yang Di Pertuan Agong and his brother Malay rulers from the royal houses have emphasised the need for unity and have advised the rakyat that they should work towards greater peace and harmony.
