The audacity of Mahathir
BY: AKMAL AZIZ
In an interview published in local English daily, the New Straits Times, former Malaysian dictator and erstwhile UMNO strongman, Mahathir Mohammad, stated that he has no confidence in the leadership skills of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim (DSAI).
But who is Mahathir to say this? Malaysians have lost respect and have no faith in him as a leader and believe he, his family, cronies and sycophants are enjoying multi billions of wealth which belong to the rakyat.
Therefore, not only is Mahathir guilty of corruption, he has also lost all credibility which the people now know and this is the reason why his political party, Pejuang, did not win a single seat in the 15th GE which is seen as an outright rejection of him by Malaysians.
Mahathir should not be given any room to manoeuvre in Malaysian politics as he is deceitful, cunning and has proven that he is solely responsible for destroying the dream of many Malaysians of the dawn of a New Malaysia.
By expressing a lack of confidence in the leadership skills of DSAI is Mahathir trying to make himself indispensable. A selfish, self seeking, self serving individual who betrayed the trust and confidence of the people – he is totally shameless.
Largely exposed now as a blatant hypocrite and liar, he caused so much damage to race relations by playing the race and religion cards during his tenure as prime minister and it is time for Malaysians to route him into oblivion.
