Need for National Courtesy Campaign

The ugly Malaysian seems to be everywhere these days and their behaviour in public is enough to drive you up the wall and it doesn’t matter where because they show their ugliness to decent and civic minded people all the time.

It’s a case of rush, push shove so they can be the first to get a seat on public transport like buses and trains and these ugly Malaysians (including ugly foreigners) have no qualms about taking seats reserved for the elderly, expectant women or OKUs.

Please don’t dream nowadays of people getting up and giving their seat to you although there are isolated cases of civic minded people doing this but if a person commutes by public transport  he will find nasty, uncouth behaviour very often displayed in public.

As for road manners, it’s beginning to look like a lost cause as traffic rules are blatantly disregarded and the hapless pedestrian suffering the brunt of reckless and dangerous driving and motoring.

These are just the obvious examples of how Malaysians are negating the benefits of being developed and advanced thus lowering the Quality Of-Life in this country as they go about veering out of control in every segment of society.

This is why the unity government led by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim must give serious attention to creating awareness and educating Malaysians through the various media to behave with courtesy and make life pleasant in this country through a National Courtesy Campaign.
