Malaysians should learn to be patient now

Expectations are high, Malaysians who voted for the present unity government are beginning to feel a tinge of anxiety and impatience as they want the country to be up and running as quickly as possible.
But let’s be realistic. There is an ongoing global recession and Malaysia has not been spared by witnessing the high unemployment rate, inflation and the rising prices of goods and services, while markets remain sluggish.
Tinkering with the economy given this scenario requires a great deal of skill and expertise to bring the country back to full normalcy although there is a growing and widespread belief that this is an almost impossible task.
But let us not only give peace a chance to recover from a bruising and hard fought 15th GE, let us also learn to give time to the unity government to settle in place and get down to the business of governance.
The restlessness and concern of many Malaysians to restore and reset the country is understandable and they also express the need to recover the plunder of wealth from the people by way of corruption.
Right now Malaysia is at ground zero. But there should be a pick up in the pace of changes and improvements in this country as day to day the right course of action is taken by the government which should cause it to grow from strength to strength.
