Change of voting trends in 15th GE

It looks as if there is a marked change in voting trends, especially in this 15th General Election (GE), as Malaysian voters are torn between the choice of choosing a candidate, a political party, or who is the prime ministerial option available.

This narrows down the field of choice for voters in a nutshell as youth voters opt for the credentials of a candidate, while the older genre of voters follow the traditional path of staying loyal to their political parties, though most of them have undergone numerous changes.

The other prime consideration for many voters is who political parties are fronting as their prime ministerial candidate and this suggests that voters are carefully evaluating if the leader can lead the country forward.

Obviously party hopping and disloyalty to voters of elected candidates, who in past general elections have betrayed their constituents, as they switched allegiance and left voters in the lurch have left a deep impression on the people.

The lines have been drawn and demarcated and the shifting trends in voting looks to be in favour of Pakatan, according to pollsters, who state that they have so far a commendable lead in the run-up to the 15th GE.

From analysing the current trends, something will be glaringly amiss if Pakatan does not get to govern from Putrajaya once again. Nearly all those involved in evaluating data from the present polls show them to be a distance ahead.
