From Jan 1 this year the Social Security Organization or SOCSO has opened applications for six programmes which fall under the purview of Budget 2022 and it is envisaged that through the year other programmes will also be implemented.
The programmes include the SIP Targeted Wage Subsidy (PSU 5.0) programme which is open for application until March 31 this year with a financial incentive of RM600 per month per employee, for three months, but limited to 500 people per enterprise.
SOCSO has also opened applications for the SIP Job Seeker Allowance+ (SIP EMP+) which will see financial assistance rendered to both SOCSO contributors and non-contributors.
The application is open for six months until June 30 for contributors and Dec 31 for non-contributors to apply.
Applications are also open for the SPS Contribution Matching programme with matching financing given under the SKSPS Second Contribution Plan, with the government paying 80 percent or RM186.20 and the remaining 20 percent or RM46.60 to be paid by the self-employed person (OBS).
Through SPS Khidmat, OBS who belong to the category of volunteer team members, JAKIM workers, community rehabilitation workers and civil servants under contract are eligible for the programme until Dec 31 this year.
Other programmes that SOCSO have unveiled include the JaminKerja-Employment Incentive programme and the SIP GIG Programme.
