Transport Minister ridiculed for being shocked during spot-check
The public has ridiculed Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong, the Transport Minister, for being shocked when he was conducting a surprise spot-check at the Johor Road Transport Department headquarters.
The Minister was feeling down after seeing people lining up for a long time, a queue that was wrapping around the building.
On Facebook, he said that he wanted to find out why people had to wait for so long even though there was an online service for renewing their license.
However, Malaysians were not buying his feeling of shock as it is the Transport Minister’s job to know the ins and outs of the governing body.
Chan KJ said, “I’m sorry? I’m shocked that you’re shocked because it has been like that for decades.”
For a minister to not know shows the amount of authority one has over the job, citing that this is not his first stint as a Transport Minister.
Simon Yee wants Ka Siong’s ministry to create more awareness of its online services so people can cut the queue.
“Please convert everything to online then have the documents be sent to us. It would be good enough for the people,” he said.
The government could also create video tutorials for those who struggle with the online processes.
