A Malaysian has taken to social media to complain about an escalator at Sri Rampai LRT station that has yet to be repaired since 2016.

Ahmad Muzammil Idris on Twitter posted two pictures from 2016 and 2021 of the same unrepaired escalators.

He wrote, “I’ve been waiting for five years. The government has changed three times. Since 2016, this escalator still can’t get its spare parts?”

The frustrated commuter had drawn back to his 2016 Twitter post questioning Rapid KL on why is it not repaired.

“The escalator at Sri Rampai hasn’t worked for a long time. Sorry for asking, can you not repair it?” he asked.

Rapid KL then responded, “Sorry for the inconvenience. We are currently waiting for spare parts to repair the escalator.”

Now with the incident being exposed, Rapid KL has retracted their five-year-old comment and stated that maintenance for that escalator is out of their jurisdiction.

Other commuters have also shared their experiences urging that Rapid KL needs to better.

Vera Soo said, “Thousands of people use escalators at KLCC daily. It is also a tourist hot spot. Before MCO and after MCO it remains unfunctional.”
