The period spot check incident has been blamed on the seniors by the Senior Education Minister.
Datuk Radzi Jidin explained that the examination was conducted by senior students on to other junior students.
He said, “Based on the explanation given to us by these students, we were told that they saw the checks as a tradition practised among their seniors, with the practice passed down to the younger generations.”
Chris Ching is upset that the staff in the school had not picked up on the disgusting issue.
He asked, “Teachers did not know about that until media exposed it?”
He was also in disbelief that it took a long few months to draw to such a conclusion.
Siti Fatimah want this ‘tradition’ to come at an immediate halt even though it may be attached to religion.
She believes it is a humiliating tradition for school girls that shows how backwards some people are.
Khalid Abdul Rahim agreed with Siti and is urging the government to offer a solution instead of just talking about it.
The incident was brought to light when a Twitter user alleged that 30 students were made to go for menstruating spot check.
