Despite being confronted by Batu Gajah’s MP in Parliament, Idris Ahmad of PAS did not offer an apology for his verbal assault on a female journalist after she asked him an English question.
Opposition V. Sivakumar said, “I saw a viral video on social media where the minister and the Deputy Human Resources Minister were confronting a female reporter, where the language used was a bit harsh.”
He added that it should have been avoided as the journalist was asking a valid question based on recent decisions made by the Kelantan government.
“What was wrong about her asking such a question?” he asked.
Alfred Ho was embarrassed that this was the standard of PAS ministers representing the people.
“Just look at their arrogance. They don’t even understand the role of journalists, let alone their role as ministers,” he said.
Idris who is Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) defended himself claiming there was no element of any proactive nature at all.
He casually ended the confrontation with “That is all… thank you,” before he sat down.
Nesa Selladurai accused Idris of relying on verbal assault because he does not understand English questions.
She was disappointed because politicians are supposed to be promoting Keluarga Malaysia instead of asking someone if they can tolerate their husband being a gambler.
