Convicted Dato Sir Najib Tun Razak is set to receive a 2.8-acre residential property, worth RM100 million, in Kuala Lumpur from the Malaysian government.

The former Prime Minister had made a request to the Prime Minister’s Department to seek privileges, that allows him to claim ownership of government properties and land.

An UMNO source said, “He made the request based on the practice that the government of the day is expected to reward its predecessors for their service and contributions to the nation.”

Malaysians are in disbelief that a person charged and convicted on corruption charges still has the ability to request government assets.

Nicholas Aw drew the term ‘Bolehland’ wherein Malaysia anything is possible including laws.

He said, “Why is there a need for more rewards when he is receiving a hefty pension?”

To add salt to the injury, Najib should be squatting in jail rather than demanding property and strutting around his catchphrase, “Malu apa Bossku.”

Arujunan Vairamuthu accused the government of rewarding politicians who are already rich but neglect civil servants like soldiers.

“There are many soldiers who lost their arms and legs executing their duties for the country and what does the government give?” he asked as he said it does not even come close to what politicians receive.

Being the Prime Minister or any other minister, it is their duty to serve the country and people and hence do not need to be rewarded lavishly.

“You ministers are fed and paid so well. That money is more than enough to reach the grave,” he said.

The Kedah citizen wants Najib to not be childish and be considerate of Malaysians who earn less while serving the country without extra demands.
