Being a parent in this nuclear age is a challenging experience compared to the yesteryears when parenting skills were much simpler and more straightforward, when most parents had no real need to seek expert or professional guidance to bring up children.

In this Digital Age when technology is beginning to revolutionize lives, both parents and their children are hard pressed to keep up with the fast-changing landscape and they tend to suffer from different forms of disorientation.

Even schooling is a tremendous challenge to undergo as both parents and their children come under pressure to ensure that they meet with success and that performance is on par with global standards.

This is why, from the time of infancy to the age of youth, the government should assist both parents and children to have an enjoyable, meaningful and fruitful time whereby they relish the bringing up years.

With the government ironing out the issues that affect both parents and children through teachers or welfare or social workers and with the assistance of the relevant NGOs and religious leaders the growing up years of a child can be a memorable experience for all.

This is why it is important to have a policy to prepare and equip parents and teachers and children to overcome the challenges that they will face when growing up because these are not normal times anymore.
