Starting this year, November will officially be recognized as the Malaysian Family Month to strengthen family times.
Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob at the launch of BKM said it would embrace the spirit of inclusion among the Malaysian Family and ‘ensure prosperity and unity of a large family’.
He added that he encourages government agencies to celebrate it as an annual event.
However, Malaysians are unsure of the agenda as it does not fall in on how politicians are behaving.
Elizabeth Shirley believes the Prime Minister should be treating Malaysians as equal before putting false front.
She said, “Malaysia will never ever prosper if you continue to play your race religion issues.”
Chow Hock Lee accuses politicians of prioritizing Bumiputras over the other minority races.
“What lopsided values are you talking about here?” he asked.
He imaged it as receiving an invitation to a party but was told that you can’t touch any food there – only for the selected people.
Chow believes that after decades of sponsoring the Bumiputras, it is time to stop and distribute them equally among other races.
“Malays should be able to be independent to compete with the world but we are not seeing the results,” he said.
