Perikatan Nasional to battle with Barisan Nasional for Malacca
Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is ready to fight it out with coalition party member, Barisan Nasional, at the November state elections in Malacca.
The Perikatan Nasional chairman is unsure if BN will join the conquest after taking a prolonged time to decide.
“We are always ready to cooperate, but the question remains – is the other side (Barisan) ready to cooperate or not? There isn’t a clear and firm answer,” he said.
Kent Hong is suspicious of Barisan Nasional’s approach as they may backstab the partnership.
“They have said they don’t want to cooperate with Perikatan during the GE 15. What makes you think will cooperate now?” he said.
UMNO Deputy President, Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan had earlier stated that they are discussing the matter in detail and will leave it to the supreme council.
John Costa hopes that ultimately a decision will be made to benefit the people.
“Don’t waste time arguing if the partnership will happen or not but spend more time proposing solutions that Melaka citizens face,” he said.
Najib Razak on Friday has postponed his Singapore trip to help out in the elections.
With UMNO President Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi leaving for Germany for medical treatment, he has been entrusted to ensure the party will act in an orderly and appropriate manner.
