Residents At Five Homes Receive Care Packages From MR D.I.Y. & CIMB Alumni
216 residents from five homes in the Klang Valley had reason to celebrate recently — they were the recipients of care packages from Malaysia’s largest home improvement retailer, MR D.I.Y. Group (M) Berhad, in partnership with CIMB Alumni. The retailer and the association joined forces to bring some much-needed cheer to long-term residents of Pusat Jagaan Warga Tua Damai, Ann’s Care Centre, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Thangam Illam, Persatuan Kebajikan OKU Hati Berganda, and Persatuan Kebajikan Chen Ai OKU.
Each home received care packages consisting of fresh vegetables, tea, MR D.I.Y face masks and hand sanitisers, shampoo, shower gel, toothpaste, and medication. Also receiving care packs were four families with physically-challenged members.

“It has been a challenging year for everyone, including the aged and less able. Many of them are missing regular visits from family and friends, due to the lockdown and the need to limit personal contact. We wanted to let them know that they aren’t forgotten, and to ensure they have the essentials they need to stay safe and healthy,” commented a spokesperson for MR D.I.Y. Group.
“We are grateful to CIMB Alumni for working with us to plan and mobilise this effort, which is part of our on-going “Stay Safe, Malaysia” CSR effort to support the national fight against COVID-19. They have been working with us on several such initiatives over the past weeks, and the results have been heartening to see.”
MR D.I.Y. and CIMB Alumni previously teamed up to distribute hygiene packs to 250 families living at the Project Perumahan Rakyat [PPR] Lembah Pantai.
