The government has launched the Keluarga Malaysia or Malaysian Family squad led by the Social Welfare Department under the Women, Family and Community Development ministry to co-ordinate all aid delivery mechanisms.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the squad will help all those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and would be a collaboration between agencies under various ministries, the private sector as well as Non-Governmental Organizations or NGOs.

Initially about 10,000 individuals in the squad were mobilised to every corner of the country to help those affected by the pandemic and the number is expected to increase when more ministries and agencies as well as volunteers register themselves.

Ismail Sabri said that to ensure the success of the Malaysian Family concept suitable products were being identified to help the people and these products and services must have a positive effect.

For this purpose the government has introduced a Key Happiness Outcome (KHO) mechanism that would complement the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

The Prime Minister said these guidelines will be based on existing universal values including the Happiness Index applicable to most countries around the world.
