FT Minister phone call bombardment shows Malaysia have terrible roads

Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim’s claims of being bombarded with phone calls are a sign that there are many Malaysian roads in terrible conditions.

The incident happened after the Federal Territories Minister had revealed his phone number publicly during Thursday’s (Oct 7) Parliament session.

In a daring approach, he urged that citizens should call him and immediate action will be taken.

However, the decision had come back to bite him as there are too many calls to be handled.

Malaysians have then said that it is because of the constant negligence that the government made previously.

Vijay Raman Rajoo wondered if the minister had any common sense when revealing private info publicly.

He said, “Did you think there were only 7 potholes on Malaysian roads. Now you seem to be doing a U-turn to avoid the issue.”

Instead of being all talk, Sivanesan Kandiah wants the Arau MP to go and personally check on the roads especially on main roads.

“That shows how bad the roads are. But we are more interested to see your ability to solve the issues,” she added.

Shahidan had backtracked to state that he does not want to be called but instead to receive text messages in the released statement yesterday.

Citizens can contact him at 019-454 1111 and ensure that damaged roads will be resolved within 24 hours.
