Malaysians ashamed at Minister for dodging tough questions regarding Women’s Ministry

The Deputy Minister for the Women’s Ministry has come under fire for not being able to provide answers and speaking vaguely on important policies.

The deputy, Siti Zailah Mohd Yusoff, in Parliament yesterday (Oct 7) was seen reading a script that did not appease other Members of Parliament.

Batu Kawan MP Kasthuri Patto said, “I’ve heard these answers before. I want to know the steps you have taken,” when she asked about the Sexual Harassment Bill.

Malaysians were also disappointed that such important matters were not taken seriously and had no urgency.

Azni said that the minister has no idea what her ministry is doing because the script is prepared by someone else.

She added, “What a waste of time and money! Should slash her salary and all the perks that go with her position as Minister and MP.”

Eddie Chai referenced issues like the welfare of women need to be a high priority as sexual harassment cases are on the rise.

He reminded Zailah that being a minister is not an ordinary job.

“Don’t occupy the seat for money and fame. If you can’t handle the job, resign with grace,” he said.

When the commotion ended in Parliament, Hannah Yeoh of Segambut voiced that if reading scripts are the way to debate in the House, then anyone can be a minister.
