The decision to host the snap elections within the next 60 days could mean chaos as the nation aims towards the endemic stage.

On Tuesday, the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Mohd Ali Mohd Rustam was left with no choice but to dissolve the state government in accordance with the constitution.

Worried citizens have come out to voice that if the elections take place, an outbreak of Covid-19 will happen similarly to the 2020 Sabah elections.

Kevin Thian raised the question, “Who would even dare to go for voting during a pandemic?”

He added that people aren’t brave enough to go on a holiday trip, what more is an election involving so many people.

The Prime Minister had acknowledged that the election could spell disaster but said that if the election does happen, the Election Commission will issue stringent SOPs.

The politicians who withdrew support from the state government claim it was for the benefit of the people.

But Suppiah Krishnarajah disagreed and called the politicians selfish.

The frustrated Malaysian said, “The present politicians are only interested in their positions and not about the rakyat who voted for them. Looks like they are greedy for power.”

Saya Nie replied to him that anti-hopping laws need to be implemented soon or else unnecessary elections will keep on happening.
