Prime Minister creates another new role in government
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has created a Human Rights Advisor to the PM role and placed Datuk Seri Azalina Othman in charge.
The former Deputy Speaker of Parliament thanked the Prime Minister for his trust in her over the appointment.
In late August, the Pengerang Member of Parliament resigned as Deputy Speaker as being impartial was too much of a challenge.
However, with yet another position established in the government, part of the public is questioning if it is redundant.
Lillian Tan asked if ministerial status, salary and perks are provided with the position.
If so, she suggested that the Prime Minister should pay for the expenses as he already has a law minister.
“Why does the law minister need an adviser to coach him on law and human rights?”
Others shared positive notes to the appointment as Azalina portrays herself as a strong female figure.
Adeline Goh congratulated the feisty MP and claimed that women and children of Malaysia depend on her continuous strong stand and voice to protect and fight for their improved protection and welfare.
Azalina had been pioneering protective efforts for children and women as she wants to empower the group.
Her recent discussion with the Special Choice Committee for Women and Children’s Affairs and Social Development was well received by the people.
Separately she shared her negative sentiments towards the government for appealing the right for Malaysian mothers to pass citizenship to their foreign-born children.
