Tengku Zafrul Bin Tengku Abdul Aziz, 48 years old, is Malaysia’s Minister of Finance and is considered by most of the people who work under him to be meek and unassuming but beneath this humility is a champion of high finance.

Duly credited, under the Muhyiddin Administration, for restructuring the country’s treasury to cope with the Covid-19 pandemic, he is described as astute and possessing refined skills in high finance making him an important person in the political hierarchy.

Under the Ismail Sabri Administration, Tengku Zafrul was a decisive choice to be finance minister to continue his good run of organizing and managing the finances of the country and many Malaysians trust him and believe he is a responsible and safe pair of hands.

But he has his work cut out for him and he has to face the brunt of criticism from those who are the naysayers and feel he has yet to prove himself. But these critics are an isolated and small community compared to the thumbs up approval given to him by many Malaysians.

This is why his star is on an ascendancy, and along with health minister Khairy Jamaluddin, Tengku Zafrul is also a possible prime ministerial candidate in the future and barring any unforeseen mishaps he should be on course.

So far he has been ticking all the boxes right while learning the ropes of high finance and expanding on his knowledge and experience but in him Malaysians see an individual who can lead the nation forward to greater heights of success.
