Guangxi University in China has left Malaysia impressed after demonstrating their fluency in the Malay language.

The foreign higher education institute has a 4-year degree course that focuses on the Malaysian national language as well as literature and cultural subjects.

In an interview with Ou Huiting, a student shared that she wants Malaysia to open its door for them to have the chance to study or work in the country.

Speaking with high Malay proficiency, she said, “Compared to studying science or technology, it’s easier for me to study Bahasa Malaysia.”

Soon Choi, a Malaysian, said that China will always have the widest genetic pool.

With a population so big, they are able to pick and choose to live and prosper.

She also mentioned that the Chinese can succeed because no one told them that knowing a foreign language is a threat to their existence, security, identity or special rights.

The statement is an alleged familiar tone from Malay politicians who do not encourage practicing foreign languages.

However, Malaysians believe that just learning, in theory, does not mean the Chinese nationalist will be able to assimilate well with Malaysian citizens.

Christopher Joseph on Facebook wrote that China is a monoculture whereas Malaysia is multicultural.

He added, “Do they know our culture? When they open a company here, they want us to follow their culture instead. They don’t care about our culture.”
