Enough vaccines for everyone including teens
Deputy Health Minister Datuk Dr. Noor Azmi Ghazali has assured anxious parents of teenagers waiting to receive their Covid-19 vaccinations that everyone will get their jabs and there is no need to panic.
He said there was enough vaccines for everyone and school-going teenagers must wait for their respective schools to inform them when and where to get their Covid-19 vaccines.
Noor Azmi said in the past it took a while for people to receive appointments even though they registered early. This was because at that time there wasn’t enough supply of vaccines.
Now there is sufficient supplies for the 3.2 million teenagers in the country to be vaccinated.
Noor Azmi, who is also Chairman of the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force for Adolescencts (CITF-A) said walk-ins for adolescents aged between 12 and 17 were limited to non-schoolgoers.
He urged parents of school-going teens not to rush to the PPV vaccination centres and stated that the nation will achieve the target of fully vaccinating 80 percent of teens by the end of the year.
