Rapper NO:EL Incarcerated For Driving Without A License & Assaulting An Officer
South Korean rapper NO:EL has landed himself in hot water after being arrested on the claims of driving without a license and physically assaulting a police officer when said officer was trying to administer a sobriety test on Sept 18th.
According to South Korea’s Yonhap News, the 21-year-old son of a politician was reported to have been driving around the Banpo-dong district in Seochogu, Seoul before getting into an accident. When an officer arrived at the scene, NO:EL was asked to take a breathalyser test to check his alcohol toxicity levels and show identification.
The former ‘High School Rapper’ contestant refused to comply and proceeded to strike the officer over the head. The incident was caught on camera via the black box footage from a car behind the rapper’s and revealed to the public by SBS.
In the footage, NO:EL can also be seen continuously pushing the officer. He was promptly arrested and allowed to go return home following a short investigation.
The rapper later posted a short apology on his Instagram Story for his actions saying, “I have no words to say. I will receive all the punishment that I deserve and try my best to become a more mature member of society. I sincerely apologize to all my fans and many people who might have been negatively affected by my actions.”
The young rapper has had several run-ins with the law over the years. In June 2020, he was caught driving under the influence which resulted in him colliding with a motorcycle. He received a suspended sentence and was later found out to have tried to cover it up by changing drivers with an acquaintance.
