Ahmad Maslan’s nomination as Deputy Speaker shocks Malaysians
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob’s decision to nominate Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan as the Deputy Speaker of Parliament has stunned Malaysians.
The nomination comes to light after Datuk Seri Azalina Othman resigned from the post leaving it vacant.
UMNO member, Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz was reported to confirm the nomination of the UMNO Secretary-General.
Malaysians on social media have been shocked by the nomination where some have considered Parliament as a circus.
Alex Shen sarcastically welcomed Ahmad Mazlan and is looking forward to more entertainment ahead. He felt that Malaysians were lucky to have such a nomination.
Parliament member of Klang, Charles Santiago had also voiced out on Twitter that the court cluster politicians were the ones who brought down Muhyiddin Yassin.
However, they now nominate Ahmad Maslan as Deputy Speaker with Ismail Sabri’s support while he faces corruption charges.
Charles questioned if the court cluster is planning a return to power with all charges dropped?
Bob Haslam accused the Prime Minister of not following the demands of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
He said that to nominate this ‘cartoon character’ for this position is an insult to not only intelligence but the nation as well.
The surprised Malaysian added, “Instead of clearing the swamp, he fills it up with more sludge.”
