The Kind Run: Kind Kones To Host Virtual Run To Raise Funds For Those Affected By COVID-19

Kind Kones, an all-natural plant-based dessert brand, will be organising its very first maiden “virtual” run, The Kind Run, from the 15th to 30th of September to encourage a healthier lifestyle by adding fun and fitness to as many homes as possible during these unprecedented times while also giving back to those affected by COVID-19.

Kind Kones co-founder, Ishpal Bajaj said The Kind Run was supposed to be a physical event held last year but due to the pandemic, they had to postpone the run to a later date.

“We considered our options of postponing the run again but the current situation motivated us to organise The Kind Run this year “virtually” so we are able to do our part and help raise funds for those affected by the pandemic. We advocate for small steps towards creating awareness and kindness for a bigger cause through The Kind Run,” Ishpal said.

Kind Kones will be donating a portion of the sales to The Hope Branch, an initiative to effectively raise funds for those affected by Covid-19 Pandemic and Colour Away Covid, a student-led organisation with a passion to serve those affected by Covid-19. Kind Kones also garnered support from like-minded businesses to sponsor products and vouchers to complete The Kind Run Kit.

In six short weeks, Kind Kones was able to put a virtual run together and The Kind Run Kit is priced at RM125 (general pricing – September 8th onwards) and RM110 (early bird – September 4th to 7th). The runner kit is valued at RM200 and includes a dry-fit shirt, face mask, insulated bottle, tote bag and an ice cream pint of choice along with products and vouchers from sponsors. The kits can be purchased in-store or online from 4th of September onwards.

“The objective of The Kind Run is not only to help raise funds for The Hope Branch but also to help raise spirits during the pandemic in a safe and fun manner. We were blown away by the support we received from our sponsors who were committed to supporting us in completing the Run Kit! We’re really looking forward to everyone joining us for our very first,” said Serina Bajaj, co-founder of Kind Kones.

With every purchase of The Kind Run Kit, one Mangrove tree will be planted in Indonesia. Participants are encouraged to complete the 5KM and share their runs via social media with the hashtag #TheKindRun and tagging @kindkones on Instagram and Facebook.
