Khloe Kardashian Faces Backlash Over Fatphobic Comments Made In Resurfaced Video
Khloe Kardashian has recently come under fire over a resurfaced clip where she made some less than body positive comments. The viral TikTok making rounds as of late shows the 37-year-old reality star making during an interview on an episode of the ‘On Purpose’ podcast with British media personality Jay Shetty back in 2019, saying “I can’t stand people that are like eating a bucket of Häagen-Dazs ice cream, and they’re like ‘I’m so fat!’”
“And like, they won’t work out, they won’t change their diet, they won’t drink more water, they won’t whatever, but they’re complaining, complaining, complaining.”
The Revenge Body with Khloé Kardashian star goes on to say, “I’m like well, you’re always going to be in this victimised state because you’re literally not doing any-, you’re not being self-aware. You’re not even looking at your own reflection, saying, ‘Okay, what can I do to change things about myself?’ It’s everybody else’s fault.”
Of course, these comments didn’t go down well with fans and online dwellers alike, with many posting the clip to TikTok to express their reactions to said comments.
One Twitter user said: “Khloe Kardashian is really saying this with her whole chest as if she doesn’t have personal trainers and plastic surgeons sculpting her body for her. Throwback to when she used to be the like-able sister.”
Khloe is no stranger to body image issues, having opened about her own in the past including struggling with shedding weight and working out following the birth of her daughter with Tristan Thompson.
“I think everyone just thinks, ‘Oh, I’m going to work out and I’m going to lose all this weight in two months. It doesn’t work that way … It’s going to be a long journey, but it’s going to be the most rewarding journey.”
