Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi asserted that UMNO is the better option for the government on Sunday, August 22.
In his Facebook post, the UMNO President referenced a speech made in 2018 where he said UMNO was always ready to lead the government.
This included if anything was to happen to the administration. He also blamed the defeat in the 14th General Election on slander.
The Bagan Datuk representative added that what he said three years ago has turned to reality today.
He thanked all UMNO leaders, members and supporters for the commitment shown to his statement.
Zahid, facing numerous corruption lawsuits, claimed that the next goal is the 15th General Election.
He added, “We are the better option. We are the best choice for the return of governance before or after the GE-15.”
UMNO’s desire is nothing but to restore prosperity among the different religions, races and the nation.
UMNO returns to power with a Prime Minister seat after 14 UMNO MPs withdrew from the Perikatan Nasional coalition on August 9.
Ismail Sabri was then sworn in as Prime Minister by the King on Saturday (Aug 21) after gaining 114 MP votes.
