Perikatan Nasional policies to continue in next administration
Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has said that Perikatan Nasional needed to support Ismail Sabri to continue the policies set by the previous administration.
The Pagoh MP stated, “This decision was made to ensure continuity of Perikatan policies, which have been focused on battling Covid-19 and healing the nation until the right time comes for the 15th General Election to be held to return the mandate to the people.”
Muhyiddin had also stated the coalition support for the Prime Minister nominee comes with a condition. The nominee, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, will have to build a cabinet with integrity.
The Interim Prime Minister said, “If appointed Prime Minister by the King, he must ensure that the cabinet appointed must comprise those with integrity, free from any criminal accusations in court.”
Muhyiddin verified that all 50 PN Members of Parliament had sent signed statutory declarations to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
He added that he managed to negotiate with Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) and Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) to choose the same.
On Thursday (Aug 19), the King requested 114 MPs supporting Ismail Sabri as Prime Minister to vouch at the Istana Negara.
