Anwar’s lawyers receive sexual assault lawsuit against him
The lawsuit against Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim accusing him of sexual assault has been received by his lawyers.
The plaintiff, Muhammad Yusoff Rawther claimed that he had sexually assaulted him in Anwar’s own home in 2018.
Yusoff said in a statement, that on October 2, 2018, Anwar had molested him at his house in Segambut.
The 73-year-old politician was apparently upset and disappointed when his advances were rejected by Yusoff. As he was leaving, Anwar said, “I want to do this again.”
The accuser responded by saying he does not want to be alone in a room with Anwar.
The former Yayasan Aman employee said, following the episode, there were not any interactions between them for a month. Yusoff at that time was still working with Anwar in the office.
Yusoff representative, Counsel Mahajoth Singh, said High Court Deputy Registrar, Idamasliza Maarof has appointed September 9 for further case management.
According to Anwar, he denies the allegations as he was in Port Dickson campaigning for the by-election and not at his Segambut home.
Questions have been raised if the motive behind the allegations were to politically assassinate Anwar’s career.
