Ismail Sabri gaining support for Prime Minister seat
Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has been gaining support for Prime Minister as more parties announce their candidate.
Persatuan Islam Se-Malaya (PAS) had stated that their support lies with Ismail Sabri of UMNO.
Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said that all 18 PAS Members of Parliament had signed statutory declarations to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
18 Gabungan Parti Sarawak MPs had also penned down their allegiance for Ismail according to Santubong MP Datuk Seri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.
He said, “He (Ismail Sabri) has tremendous inside experience in dealing with Covid-19 for the past 17 months. Most comments on how to handle the Covid-19 pandemic came from outside without real knowledge of the many conflicting demands and wishes from inside.”
For more support, Datuk Eddin Syazlee Shith of Bersatu stated that Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin ordered Bersatu to support the Bera MP.
The Kuala Pilah MP said, “We are all in agreement to support Ismail Sabri. Those were the orders by our president.”
The support would result in an additional 31 Bersatu statutory declarations alongside 4 allies.
