All eyes on His Majesty the YDPA
With a failed political system now in Malaysia, all eyes are turned on His Majesty the YDPA as he deliberates over who should be given the unenviable task of being Prime Minister.
Expectedly, since he accepted the resignation of Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and his cabinet, the YDPA has been busy, occupied with meeting political leaders from different political parties.
Istana Negara has never been so visited by political leaders as His Majesty the YDPA seeks to appoint a government that can help eradicate the Covid-19 pandemic.
There are basically two issues troubling the mind of His Majesty the YDPA at present.
The two issues are the current trending issues on social media, which is the Covid-19 pandemic and the high number of infections and deaths and the reopening of the economy.
When in early last year His Majesty the YDPA handed over the reins of power to Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin the Covid-19 pandemic was under control and the economy was still functioning.
But things have changed drastically since then with Muhyiddin Yassin being unable to administer the government with no support and political parties pulling in all directions.
In the end, it was game over for Muhyiddin and the eyes of Malaysians are now trained on His Majesty the YDPA who does not wish for a general election for fear of aggravating the Covid-19 crisis.
It looks like Tan Sri Muyiddin Yassin won’t be the caretaker PM for long as it is envisaged that the new Prime Minister would be announced by His Majesty the YDPA shortly.
