14 Members of Parliament have released their letters publicly that indicated their rejection for the Perikatan Nasional government and Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin.

The letters dated July 30 and August 4, stated the names of those withdrawing to be presented to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

The letter was written by UMNO President, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

The names included in the letter were Datuk Seri Najib Razak (Pekan), Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan (Pontian), Datuk Dr Shamsul Anuar Nasarah (Lenggong), Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Rahim (Baling) and Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said (Pengerang).

Others involved were Datuk Seri Bung Mokhtar Radin (Kinabatangan), Datuk Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub (Machang), Datuk Mohd Nizar Zakaria (Parit), Datuk Ahmad Nazlan Idris (Jerantut), Ramli Mohd Nor (Cameron Highlands), Datuk Mohamad Alamin (Kimanis), Tan Sri Noh Omar (Tanjung Karang) and Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah (Gua Musang).

The UMNO president had reiterated, “I would also like to confirm that none of the MPs had retracted their statutory declarations that had been presented to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.”

The release of the letters signifies the motion that Muhyiddin has lost the majority in Parliament. To reverse the effect, Muhyiddin can only convince opposition leaders to join his bloc.

Last Tuesday (August 3) Zahid said, “Technically, Muhyiddin has lost the majority and I am writing another letter to His Majesty to submit an additional number of SDs.”
